CHARACTER
NAME: Akari
CANON: Pokemon Legends: Arceus (Canon AU. Akari is the MC, v how in Pokemon Masters EX, Rei is the MC)
CANON POINT: Post-Giratina Fight
BACKGROUND: Not much is known of Akari's life before falling from the sky. She remembers a bright light and waking up on the Beach. But when she arrived in Hisui, Hisui was going to change for the better- and for the worse.

Akari is one of the main characters from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The basic gist is Arceus ripped her from her bed one night, changed her phone and plopped her in the Sinnoh of ancient past with the mission of 'Seek out all Pokemon.' Which, while it would be easy, being in the past means she is in tougher times, having to be put to work to be given shelter. Pokemon Masters EX has Rei as the main character, but from what that provided we can safely assume she lacks many of her memories of where she came from.

I use this as a launch pad that this made it where she had to toughen her skin to move forward and survive as she was given the task to help the Professor compile the first Pokedex. With this, she is thrown into a situation where she has to fight rampaging pokemon, calm Noble pokemon from a rage that no one knows is causing it, help build a village into something that thrives, eventually be kicked out of the village due to a mildly xenophoic leader who blamed her for things out of her control and having to solve the big problems of the land to have a home again. She has been forced to not be introspective because she hasn't been given the time or space to process all of these feelings, so sometimes, it is just easier to not act like she could be taken advantage of. It is hard to be kind when the world isn't, and while she is kind- it is easier for her to say she isn't becuse it protects her. All while being 15.

Akari is kind, very very kind. Jubilife didn't grow because she was unkind, she would go through the town, take requests, and look for people who might need her help. She would listen to them and help them with those problems. Which is why when she was exiled from the village she did take to it very deeply. Also why she did go and fix the Red Sky issue. And why she went back to Jubilife afterwards and go back to helping people. She knows they were working off of what they knew and their 'olde tyme' thinking, but also- they should have known her by her actions by then.

SUITABILITY: She will take to it like a duck to water. This is not the first time she had been thrown into a new situation, because she will bask in it. When Laventon called her the Skyfaller, she was like 'Yes, I am cool and mysterious.' when she had her first battle with Volo, she was not surprised she won. She is confident and cocky, along with all the worse aspects of a 15-year-old girl. She loves Pokémon, she knows she is great, after all- God stans her (like it gave her a phone with a cute case!).

But on a more serious note, Akari is sutible because at the end of the day she knows she has to keep going forward, that any bumps, bruises, betrayals or wild paras attacks along the way is just how life is as you go forward. She is an unstoppable object.

QUESTIONNAIRE:

Your character is on an exploration quest when they find an injured Pokemon in need of help. This Pokemon appears to be in distress and is quite dangerous, posing a risk to your character even if they mean well, and putting your quest mission at risk. What do they do? What are some possibilities of how they work with teammates to address this, or do they go at it alone?

She goes at it alone, she doesnt trust either her teammates or the other Pokemon and has too much trust in her own abilities due of what she accomplished in Hisui. She will watch the situation for what she needs to do, then go in guns ablaze. When it comes to helping the injured Pokemon, she would find a safe space for them and get what she needs to help them. And if it did try and hurt her somehow be it because of being an actual threat or somehow been confused, she would fight them right back. Using your words is the good, mature and kind thing to do, but Akari isn't really socially mature (it comes from bening an amnesiac who is put on the payroll 12 hours after losing your memories). If it turned out the Pokemon was actually dangerous to her, she would not feel gulity because it was self defense. If the Pokemon wasn't, she would some guilt, but it wouldn't be a dominate feeling.

She knows you could never curry too many favors after all. But also, because she is by nature kind, she wouldn't want to see the other hurt. But also, she is jaded and wants to protect herself first and the people she likes second.

Your character's worst enemy has recently appeared in game, and has joined the guild your character is part of. They both want to tackle the same quest, and your character's enemy suggests that they work together as a team to accomplish this goal. How does your character respond to this?

Akari will accept their help, and throughout the entire time do everything in her power that she, is in fact, better than her enemy in every possible way. She would not be above throwing petty insults, passive-aggressive remarks and do whatever she can do make them feel small (even if it means doing the entire quest early and leave said enemy holding the bag). Then, when the goal is achieved she will thank everyone who helped her (aka she, herself and her.) She would consider her enemy just a stepping stone for her own improvement (like, who is the enemy? Melli? Ok, sometimes you need someone to throw under the bus. Beni? Screw that guy.).

She does this primarily, she doesn't feel like she would owe her enemy anything. She would take the lead in solving the quest, she would also keep an eye on her enemy so she knows they are not actually plotting something against her. She would give the enemy his share of the rewards, not because she has to, but because she is honest, but also, she would want to give herself a build up of 'I am so awesome I don't need all of this, but you need whatever scraps you can get.'

The leader of your character's guild has just approached your character with an offer: they will provide your character with extra supplies, reputation points, and help them with any of their current struggles. In exchange, they ask for your character to do a favor for them that may harm the other guilds, and will not specify what the favor is in advance. It sounds shady, but it's the deal of a lifetime in your character's path to get back home, and refusing it may cause strife for your character within their current guild. What do they think of this offer? What do they ultimately decide to do?

She is in. There are only four people she respects, and chances are none of them are in the other guilds. After all, in this world it is killed or be killed. Wait. No. In this world, you got to look out for Number One. She will do it to help herself (or one of the people she likes that needs help). Heck, she might even do it if it makes someone she doesn't like life a little harder so she could ensure her spot at the top. She wants to give herself the extra protection of being the best and making her indisposable to the guild (even though she knows how easily that can be taken away. But also, she knows the more the guild depends on her, the less likely she is to be thrown out).

If the other guilds find out and come after her? She is okay with that, they are jealous because they can't be her and want to punch up while she has learned punching down works if it means to keep her safe.

Due to shortages on supplies, the city is facing issues deciding where to cut corners during this rough time. Somehow, the responsibility has fallen on your character's shoulders, and they have to make a decision. If they send out an extra team of Pokemon, they will be able to gather more food, and through that, save the lives of dozens of starving Pokemon that were in dire need of nutrition. However, the only Pokemon available to scout for food are those working at the pokeclinic, and sending them out would mean certain death for at least two ill patients. What does your character decide to do? How do they feel about this choice, and how would they deal with the pushback that comes from either side?

There is what people would see and hear her say verus what she is actually thinking. People will see the following:
That she is joining the team to get food because she doesn't trust the others to do it by themselves after she put someone in charge while she is gone she can trust to make the best choices. If confronted about what if someone dies, she will tell them 'Pokemon are edible and better two people die than everyone starve to death and resort to cannibalism anyways.' She knows she would not make friends or influence people with those words, but also, it would keep people from trying to guilt her about what could happen.

What is going on in her head though is that she wants to be sure as much food can be brought back as soon as possible, and she knows she is quite capable of getting the things people need. Other people can help at the clinic, but the lives of many are worth more than the lives of a few- which she would feel extremely guilty about (because this isn't self-defense, she must not have worked hard enough). She would want to get things completed in as little time as possible to prevent the worse outcome, and if she acts like she doesn't care, then people can't use that against her in the future. If she starts off by showing she doesn't care about how the critically ill might end up, in case the worse does happen- if someone yells at her about it she can act like it doesn't hurt and that they are shouting at a wall.

She would already be blaming herself for this though, and at the end of the day, she knows she has to live with herself and the choices she makes so she needs to stay committed to them.

POKEMON: Cyndaquil - While many other Pokemon would be a good fit, I think Cyndaquil would be best for her. She has a fiery temper and really should be a foot and a half Pokémon to keep from throwing hands (or well, Cyndaquil front-arm nubs) too often. Its evolution tree can end in a Hisuian form or not depending on the circumstances, which shows how if Akari were not sent to Hisui, she might have ended up a different individual despite having the same start.

I would like to use this as a chance for her to mature as she grows stronger. She is a 15-year-old at the end of the day, she thinks she knows it all. She feels like her status as the Skyfaller makes her just better than other people (and a lot of this could be a defense mechanism for not knowing much about her past besides a few random facts and being tossed into a dangerous and scary new world with a ton of responsibility in under a day of just landing on a beach). This would force her to have to depend on others and become stronger for it.

GUILD OPT-OUT: Cheri Berries, I feel like simply, Cheri Berry Guild would not be big enough for a personality as big as Akari's with Ribombee there. Akari would look at him, and know from the start they have different core value beliefs (for one, she helps because she says she HAS to and not because she wants to). Also, she already helped build one city, and they backstabbed her right after so she might still be a little (very) bitter about that.

For a guild, I would strongly argue she would thrive in would be the Oran Berries. For once, she would greatly appreciate after the 'getting kicked out of Jubilife' thing, to be wholly accepted into a guild where she doesn't have to worry about if she doesn't somehow meet a quota she gets thrown to the Paras that will eat her innards (Paras are scary). She is always willing to fight for what she believes in (no matter how capricious she might seem) and plus the entire value of 'even the toughest warriors need care and encouragement' would perhaps soften her sharper edges and set her back on a path to be. She had fun in Hisui gathering and collecting things, and of course- she loves to battle.

SAMPLES:
Akechi has found her in the woods. She is ready to take on the world (while fearing having to earn your place again)
Ingo has found her! She is ride or die with this man. Even if it means knife fights behind a Denny's.

A secret third thread because I am indecisive. In which Dark Heart cheers her on, and she shows she is so very humble. (this is a lie.)
